The
Centre for
Nanoscience and Nanotechnology in the
Mahatma
Gandhi University
was established in 2009. This Centre promotes interdisciplinary study
and research programs in nanoscience and nanotechnology leading to
technological developments. The Centre offers M.S., M.Phil. and Ph.D.
programs. Many of the activities of the Centre have active
collaborations with various national / international research
institutions and universities all over the world. The Centre is
funded through research grants from various government agencies and
industries such as DST, ICMR, UGC–DAE CSR Centre and General
Cables-USA. The Centre is equipped with current state of the art
instruments which facilitates quality research in the Nano field.
The main goal of the Centre is to promote and coordinate large-scale interdisciplinary research programs in nanoscience and nanotechnology leading to the development of nano-devices such as sensors, impermeable nano-composite membranes, super-tough polymer nano-composites for space and defence applications, drug delivery systems based on nano-molecules, and nanomaterials for optoelectronics and display devices.
The centre organizes seminars, workshops and conferences on a regular basis. Such activities will provide a platform for rigorous interactions for the students, researchers, faculty members and others.
